"Ceremonial Console Table In Blackened Pear Tree, Napoleon III Period - Mid-19th Century"
Console table on all sides in blackened pear, rectangular in shape. Its wraparound top features in its center an inlaid decoration of scrolls, scrolls, foliage and flowers in finely chiseled brass. This double tray is bordered by a molding on the front and on the sides. The belts, offering similar marquetry, are each underlined with bronze rods. This set rests on four curved Louis XV legs, also inlaid with brass compositions and molded on the edges. They are embellished with espagnolette in the upper parts, and end with recessed hooves. The rear part of this base slides and forms a drawer. This system supports the tray once unfolded. Open, the latter has a recessed frame at the front and back, straight sides and slightly rounded projecting angles. The center is dark with a green felt, surrounded by a braid with golden patterns. The refinement of this System Console Table, the contrast of its ornamentations and its adapted dimensions will particularly delight lovers of prestigious furniture.
