"Mahogany Chest Of Drawers, Louis XVI Period - XVIIIth"
Dresser in solid Mahogany and Burl Mahogany veneer from Cuba. Uprights with fluting and adorned in the upper part with striated brass plates. They end with spinning top feet, with flanges and brass ball shoes. It opens with 3 large drawers, furnished with pull handles and underlined by moldings also in brass. The first, giving the illusion of being composed of 3 small drawers, offers a storage depth of 10 cm, while the other 2 are deeper (18 cm) and are distinguished on their fronts by a Burl Mahogany veneer developed. Its top is in molded marble, with groove, dark gray in color. The sides are reserve panel and embellished with brass moldings. Its 3 locks are original and this piece of furniture is supplied with a cloverleaf key. The bottoms of the drawers and the back of the chest of drawers are in oak. ********* Period: Louis XVI, late 18th century.
