Galileo Chini (Florence, 1873 - 1956), painter; ceramist experimenter of metallic lusters and different compounds for ceramics and stoneware, one of the greatest exponents of Art Nouveau in Italy. In addition to Tuscany, I work in the East, especially in Bangkok.

The back bears the oldest mark for the creations of a great experimental ceramist: a mark with the pomegranate which was used from 1896 to 1902.
In 1896 the "Arte della ceramica" factory was founded by Galileo Chini who took care of the artistic side of the production, Vittorio Giunti took care of the technical issues, Montelatici and Vannuzzi took care of the realization.
Manufacturing headquarters: Florence - Via Arnolfo.
Trademark adopted: A stylized pomegranate with the initials "ADC (Arte Della Ceramica )/F (Firenze)" inside, sometimes accompanied by the wording "Firenze", the Trademark is sometimes engraved and other times drawn by hand.
After a short time the founding members were joined by Guido and Chino Chini, cousins of Galileo.
This type of Mark will be used until 1902
Around 1900, the production of stoneware and the use of the metallic luster technique began.
