"Armchairs Stamped Cresson l'Aîné."
Suite of two large caned armchairs with flat backs stamped Cresson l'Aîné forming a false pair. Armrests sculpted with shells and acanthus leaves. Arched winding feet also surmounted by acanthus leaves. These armchairs are stamped on both sides of the rear crosspiece. René Cresson was received as a master on January 28, 1738 and came from a long line of carpenters, all members of the same family. He leaves behind very few works marked with his Cresson l'Aîné stamp. Small usual restorations, comfortable and stable seats.
