History:
Andries Vermeulen is a Dutch painter, born in Dordrecht on March 23, 1763 and died in Amsterdam on July 16, 1814. He worked and was taught by his father Cornelis Vermeulen. He particularly likes the representation of landscapes with scenes of everyday life and scenes of peasants working on frozen lakes. This specialty made the fame of this artist. We find many of his paintings at the Rijksmuseum in Amsterdam and at the Metropolitan Museum in New York.
