Bronze with brown patina representing Giovanni Ferretti (1792 - 1878) elected on June 16, 1846 under the name of Pius IX. Called the blessed, this Pope made history by proclaiming the dogma of the Immaculate Conception. Wearing his papal cap, Pius IX presents a face imbued with benevolence, sketching a slight smile. A hooded mozette hemmed with Ermine covers his shoulders. Above, a pallium is carved with beautiful ornamentation. This large fabric is decorated with volutes surrounding doves and the coat of arms of the Vatican represented by the crossed keys of Saint Peter. On the pedestal of the Bronze, a plate engraved in relief presents in its center the name of the Pope. Around, we find again the keys of Saint Pierre and a representation of the pontifical tiara.
