Bamboo Spirit Semainier In Solid Pitchpin, Art Nouveau - 1900

Rare Art Nouveau weekly planner in bamboo-turned solid pitch pine. This storage unit has 7 drawers, 6 of which are the same height and a smaller one at the top. These are surrounded by half-rounds carved with a miter cut in the corners. In the centre, a pitchpin button allows each drawer to be pulled, fitted with a dovetail, whose bottoms and sides are made of the same type of wood as the rest of the cabinet. At the corners, the uprights of the furniture are made of sculpted pitchpin representing a large, very realistic bamboo stalk. Each ends with a small foot turned in front. The sides of this semainier are also embellished with half circles representing bamboo, thus completing the geometry of the whole.
