"Pair Of Pewter Baluster Vases, Indochina - Late 19th Century"
Made at the end of the 19th century in the Indochinese peninsula, this pair of pewter vases is entirely engraved with sacred chimerical animals such as Phoenixes, Turtles or Qilins (legendary animals symbols of luck, fertility and protection). The body, cylindrical, presents a medallion with sinograms. The slightly flared neck features two long dragons forming handles. These elements rest on a pedestal decorated with scrolls and friezes. These vases will seduce you with their illustrations of chimeras specific to Asian culture.
