This young man has a very sympathetic, endearing, touching and almost mischievous expression of surprise.
Wearing a cap, which looks more like a 'pileus' than a 'mitre', he is characteristic of ecclesiastical dignitaries in southern Germany during the time of the Holy Roman Empire.
The folds of his jacket and the red tunic correspond to the sculpture of this period and this region, very popular with collectors.
Standing on a posterior base.
Original polychromy with some later restorations.
In good condition with lacks due to time.
