Rare 5 Piece Bedroom Set In Painted Wood, Art Deco - Early 20th Century

Rare 5-piece bedroom set, in wood painted in black and oxblood red, from the Art Deco period. It is made up of a pair of Small Pieces of Furniture, a Chest of Drawers, a Wardrobe/Linen and a Bed. Pair of small pieces of furniture: The top, in marble from the Pyrenees, is topped with a basket-handle backsplash. The front of this furniture has a niche in the upper part. The only difference between these two items: one includes a space for four horizontal compartments while the other offers a door simulating two drawers dressed in chased bronze pendants. The earthenware interior was originally designed to accommodate a chamber pot (included). The front uprights, flanked and adjoining the furniture, are gadrooned. The sides are dark with a recessed panel underlined by a groove. Chest of drawers: It opens with three identical drawers with flowerbeds. Each of them is adorned with two bronze pendants with rosettes and an important finely chiseled central motif, representing a dome garlanded and garnished with flowers. The interior, bottom and back of these drawers are in poplar and the sides are in oak. They benefit from a dovetail assembly. The top of this chest of drawers is moulded. The sides and uprights are in the same spirit as the pair of small pieces of furniture previously described. Wardrobe/Lingère: It opens with a large central door. This is flanked by an oval mercury mirror and is fitted with an original functional lock with chiseled bronze key, entrance and pendant. Laterally distributed, two false doors, each composed of a large panel and a smaller one, adorn the facade. The interior offers four thick adjustable shelves since on racks. The sides are distinguished by three identical panels separated by two crosspieces. The whole, underlined with the same colors, rests on a plinth ending in small striated feet. Note that this Cabinet can be assembled and disassembled by reminder screws. Bed set: The rectangular frame of the bed, shaped, is molded. It rests on top-turned feet. This frame offers a standard interior dimension of 160 cm by 190 cm. This bed is accompanied by a molded semi-circular headboard projecting in the circumference. It consists of a large panel underlined by a thin red border. This bedroom set, rare since it is complete, will appeal in particular for its very refined Art Deco design and the finesse of its bronzes.
