Object description :

"Large Marble Bust Of Woman In The Spirit Of The XVIII Eme Century"
Superb female bust in the spirit of the 18th century, 19th century manufacturing. a bust remarkable for the beauty of the features and the delicacy and quality of the sculpture.
the mixture of the two marbles is an additional refinement and the color contrast highlights this young woman.
indeed the coat or the dress is carved in a very beautiful peach blossom marble.
the drape is skillfully done and the contrasting veins of this marble highlight the charming face of this young woman.
the face is of great finesse, the hair elaborated in a bun from which escape locks falling on the shoulders. A rose placed in the hair embellishes the whole.
the finesse of the sculpture of this face in white marble is quite remarkable and we feel that the sculptor was inspired by the pretty women of the 18th century, in particular under Louis XV.
the square base in Carrara white was redone a long time ago.
a strikingly intense bust, offering a very beautiful setting.
