"Cartel Martinot A Paris Boulle Marquetry 104 Cm 18th Century"
High-class "boulle" clock, one of the first models of this type, movement signed Martinot in Paris, 1722. A model with impressive dimensions. The clock has beautiful gilt bronze fittings - the legs are crowned with female heads, the main application on the front door shows the scene of the abduction of Hercules' wife by Centaur, the clock is dominated by Chronos seated on the globe. The dial is also nicely decorated with porcelain indexes. The clock case is finished with brass leaf and brown tortoiseshell.
