"Secretary Chest With Painted Decor, 17th Century"
Rare and astonishing coffe from the 17th century forming a wooden secretary covered with leather and wallpaper. It rests on a period base in walnut made up of crosspieces and twisted uprights and opening on the front with 2 drawers. The domed chest rests on this base and opens from above, when on the front it falls down to reveal 5 drawers in 2 rows. The entire facade, like the inside of the flap, is covered with period and original wallpaper representing a fortress village setting and greenery. The exterior of the trunk is covered with thick leather trimmed with an ornamentation of nails. Rare 17th century French work in excellent condition.
