Silk painting (embroidered and painted) also adorned with gold and silver thread embroidery, representing Saint Blaise* with his crosier and bishop's mitre, in its gilded stuccoed wooden frame with palmettes and windings in the corners, from the First Empire period at the beginning of the 19th century. This painting is in good condition as well as its frame. High quality. A note: slight small accidents and losses on the frame, tiny wear of time on the silk, take a good look at the photos. * Saint Blaise: Little is known of the life of Saint Blaise. We only know that he was bishop of Sebaste, and that he was martyred by the orders of Agricoiaus, governor of Cappadocia and of Little Armenia, around the year 316, during the persecution of Licinius.
