Suzanne Edith Anne Marie Marcelle Léger was born on December 23, 1897 in Dorat, to Narcisse Léger, justice of the peace and Marguerite Levet, without profession. In 1909, she was twelve years old when she began to paint with the wife of a notary in Châteauponsac. In 1911, she painted her first picture, a view of old Bellac from her home. Then the young artist meets the painter Jean Teilliet, originally from Saint-Junien, of whom she will become a pupil, then she will assist him in his creations. In 1927, Suzanne Léger "went up" to Paris, out of the question for her to study Fine Arts, "a place of perdition" according to her parents who opposed it. She lives a few steps from "La Ruche" where she goes there every day to meet other painters. From 1929, she began to exhibit to French Artists.
