"Pair Of Vases With Geisha And Samurai, Kutani, Japan, Meiji Era (1868-1912)"
A pair of interestingly shaped vases, with scrolled handles and spout. One side is painted with beautiful women in elaborate costumes (geisha?) with boys, the other with valiant samurai. The whole is decorated with intricately painted floral and abstract ornaments. Porcelain enamelled, painted and gilded by hand. Kutani, Japan, Meiji era (1868-1912), the signature appearing on the photographs. Height 37 cm, diameter 19 cm. The state of conservation of one of the vases is very good, the edge is slightly damaged. The other vase has a crack on 2/3 of its height or a trace of the meeting of two elements? It has a chip on the upper edge visible in the photo. Free delivery in EU. ! I send parcels by insured courier (DPD or DHL). All items are packaged very carefully.
