"19th Century Stable Stalls"
Beautiful set of late 19th century stable stalls from Laloy in Paris. "In the years 1880-90, the layout of stables was a very buoyant market, which explains the large number of companies involved in the sale of this equipment; Laloy, Rabourdin, Oranger, Cabanel, Brunet, Jardillet. .." the fully dismantled set includes 4 stalls, one of which is double; the parts fixed to the walls are in wood, the intermediate partitions in cast iron and wood. Note a necessary restoration of wooden elements (oak) of two low iron crosspieces and a missing manger the stalls of the luxury stables of the end of the XIXth century were to be differentiated from boxes (wider) because if they are 4 meters, they are on the other hand quite narrow, they measure 1 meter 80 wide. Any master stable, equipped with stalls, must also have some boxes for horses returning from work. "A master's stable of course must contain boxes and stalls. The boxes are intended for horses returning from work...The one who is on his turn at work is in the stall; as soon as he leaves, he is replaced by one who was in boxing." -Valley of Loncey 1888-
