Carved hardwood box. The wood appears to be Huang-Hualy. The decoration is carved in relief of a peach tree in a stylized vase, the tree bears leaves and 5 peaches which is symbolic in China. The stylized vase is composed of a filiform dragon whose head is visible from the front. The box opens with a cover pierced with 2 holes to receive a retaining wire, so you can open the cover by sliding it without losing it. Chinese work. We do not know what these boxes were used for. Judging by the style and fine quality, this box could be dated to the early 19th century. 13cm x 2.5cm
