Nice and large 17th cty brass plaque painted pendant, with Sto Dominguo De Guzmann,
Colonial spanish work
The religious medallion is painted on a copper plate depicting Guzmann's Sto Dominguo in prayer, and the Virgin apparition.
The pendant is framed by iron border. If this representation is very popular, we will notice the double portrait in the portrait with the little Virgin and Child appearing to the Saint.
Domingo Núñez de Guzmán (c. 1170 – August 6, 1221) was a Roman Catholic priest and founder of the Order of friars preachers commonly known as Dominicans. Canonized by the Church in 1234, he is famous with the name of Saint Dominic.
Typical spanish colonial work characteristic work, certainly from Santo Domingo origin (or Philippines)

On the back, label mentioning the name of the Saint represented, and red wax stamp in period relief, bearing the Arms of a bishop, surmounted by a processional cross. "This heraldic sign of the episcopal order is the only sign that only bishops have the right to wear.
Placed in a pal behind the shield, it is at one cross for bishops and double cross for archbishops, primates and patriarchs."
