"Buffet Showcase Bookcase Two Bodies Mosellan 18th Walnut"
Very beautiful buffet of woodwork, two bodies forming a showcase or library, in walnut. Originally from Moselle, around Metz. Furniture of this type is rare: it is originally glazed (blown glass). We find much more commonly two bodies with solid doors, or dressers. Very elegant in its proportions, with its upper doors bent in "policeman's hat", its small squares, its glazed false frame also (small central circle). A large frieze drawer, simulating two independent drawers. Quatrefoil lower doors, with frames. Low cornice and small round feet (usual restorations). Good house condition, small usual repairs, beautiful waxed patina. The sides of the lower part are paneled, while those of the upper body are flat and in patinated fir, hence the typology of "wooden buffet". A very nice piece of furniture, well proportioned.
