Régence Mustard Pot, Sterling Silver, 18th Century, Northern France Or Southern Netherlands flag

Object description :

"Régence Mustard Pot, Sterling Silver, 18th Century, Northern France Or Southern Netherlands"
Magnificent Régence (1715-1730) period mustard pot in embossed and engraved solid silver with lambrequin decoration. It takes up a decoration of appliques as seen on the bewakers and casters  of the same period. The decor of the lid takes up the appearance of a caster  lid in trompe-l'oeil, which suggests that it once made a pair with a caster  of the same size as was often the case in Belgian cities. . The embossing and engraving work are of very high quality. Unfortunately, the author did not give us the pleasure of having it stamped... It weighs 177 grams.
