"Old Champagne Rack Art Deco Period"
Genuine champagne rack This rack, made entirely of solid wood, dates from the 1920s. It was used for a century in a chateau in Champagne, near Reims. It was used to store bottles of champagne in the aging cellar. Entirely in raw wood, it has taken on a beautiful gray color over the years. It has endured the ravages of time and woodworms, but it is still strong and stable and will still do its job perfectly for decades. A treatment has been applied to stop the proliferation of pests. It has two iron hinges that allow it to be folded up for possible storage. We have added two period chains to it so that it always retains its stability. The particularity of the champagne racks lies in its many holes, pierced so as to hold the bottles upside down.
