The lid presents a bouquet of flowers in marquetry of marbles and hard stones.
The flowers represented are jasmine flowers, forget-me-nots and red flowers.
The body of the box is set with six red jape medallions and two pink decorative stones. (3.8cm x 3.2cm)
The lid and the body of the box are surrounded by rows of gilded bronze beads.
This box rests on eight small top feet in gilded bronze. The cloverleaf key is original.
The interior is lined with beige silk. France or Italy,
Napoleon III period (1848-1870)
