Object description :

"Skinned Clastic"
Splendid and spectacular clastic flayed of a human body from the head to the top of the thighs. It was made of hand-painted rubber and is complete with all of its detachable organs. Its elements are detachable, they lock with small hooks once installed and which are: left hemisphere of the brain, the two lungs, the liver, the digestive parts (in three elements). Its state of conservation is remarkable with colors remaining very fresh and not chipped on 98% of the elements. To report a slight sagging of the rubber at the level of the upper attachment of the left lung without impact once mounted and locked. It has the originality of showing the entire spine in the back. All the organs have one or more numbered micro labels which were to refer to a didactic catalog. It is mounted by bolting on a wooden base of rectangular section. These proportions are of human size and the overall condition is absolutely remarkable apart from a few slight traces of use which do not constitute damage. It seems that depending on the era, papier-mâché and plaster were used for this kind of object, rubber being obviously rarer. Its characteristics allow us to date it to the very first decades of the 20th century.
