Dagger with republican and revolutionary symbolism, 19th century. Rocket representing "MARIANNE" in bronze holding in his left hand a frigian cap (symbol of the rallying sign of the revolutionaries). In his right hand a sheaf (meaning the convergence, the gathering of the various forces, it also recalls the hopes and the revolts of the people). Marianne's left foot rests on the quillon and on a crown as well as on the scepters of royal power, ball and hand of justice (the 2 honors symbolizing the power and sovereignty of the king). Diamond blade with central ridge with 2 cutting edges. Leather scabbard with 2 brass fittings. Worked snap ending in a heart and a cope decorated with a lictor's beam (revolutionary and warrior motif composed of an ax surrounded by javelins), signifying that power belongs to the people, the union and the strength of the citizens to defend the freedom. 2 branches framing it, 1 oak leaf branch (justice) and 1 olive branch (peace).
