Signed on the right side, signature and foundry mark "SUSSE Frères" plus stamp.

Nice Condition
This Marianne won the "Marianne" project competition organized by the City of Paris in 1879.
She was selected from among sixty three projects, including that of Auguste Rodin.
It was acquired by many town halls, the original marble was acquired by the Hôtel de Ville in Paris where it is exhibited.
She illustrates many books on this theme (the Fairies of the Republic, Marianne female image of the Republic, Marianne the faces of the Republic)
Jean GAUTHERIN (1840-1890)
A pupil of the Ecole des Beaux Arts in Paris, he exhibited at the Salon from 1865. He was awarded a medal in 1868, 1870 and 1873.
He was also rewarded at the Universal Exhibition of 1873, won a medal at the Universal Exhibition of 1878 and the Gold Medal at the Universal Exhibition of 1889.
He received numerous public commissions, City Hall of Paris, Casino of Monte Carlo, Cathedrals of Nevers and Marseille.
