Magnificent etching and aquatint by the Swedish artist BENGT LINDSTROM (1925-2009). Signed lower right Dedicated Marked E/A ARTIST'S PROOF Excellent condition, very bright colours, very well framed 79 x 61 with 42 x 60 frame at sight LINDSTROM Bengt was born on September 3, 1925 in Sweden. Painter of the expressionist current, he was a student in 1944 of the art school of Isaac Grünewald, a former student of Matisse, in Stockholm, the following year he studied at the School of Fine Arts in Copenhagen, in 1946- 47 at the Art Institute of Chicago, where he met Joan Mitchell, then, from 1947, worked in Paris in the studios of Fernand Léger and André Lhote. Since 1951, he has taken part in a large number of collective exhibitions in Paris, notably the Salons de Mai and the Réalités Nouvelles in Stockholm, London and Ghent. He shows his works in personal exhibitions since 1954: 1964 Konstmuseum of Boras and Sundsvall; 1966 Konstmuseum of Gothenburg and Norrköpings; 1973 Galliera Museum in Paris. Discovering, in 1946, the engraved works of Chagall and the first Popes of Bacon, he produced his first lithographs.
