Beautiful spelter sculpture representing a horse signed J. Moigniez on the terrace; it rests on a molded wooden base simulating marble. Jules Moigniez born in Senlis in 1835, died in Saint-Martin du Tertre on May 29, 1894. The career of this sculptor began at the Universal Exhibition of 1855. He exhibited regularly at the Salon from 1855 to 1892 and enjoyed great success not only in France but also abroad, notably in the United States. Beautiful patina highlighting the finesse of the details. Very good state. W/D/H: 29 X 11 X 26 cm. Base W/D/H: 28 X 12 X 2.5 cm.
