Object description :

"Pair Of Candlesticks, Paris 1784, Denis Franckson, Sterling Silver"
Sublime pair of candlesticks from the Louis XVI period in sterling  silver with the guarantee hallmarks of Paris for the year 1784 and the master goldsmith hallmark of Denis François Franckson. A talented craftsman and artist, Franckson used several techniques such as engraving, chasing and cast silver to achieve a more than satisfactory result. The entire register of the Louis XVI style is borrowed to decorate the surface. The candlesticks have their matching sconce trays, the cups of which were later transformed. The base of the umbilicus and the bobèche trays are engraved with period patrician alliance coats of arms. The pair weighs 1295 grams.
