Object description :

"Pair Of Salt Shakers, Salerons, Pepper Shakers, Silver, Coat Of Arms, Toulouse, XVIIIth"
Pair of model silver covered salt cellars with winding feet, the body engraved with a coat of arms, the lids in the shape of a shell, by master goldsmith Etienne Barrau, Toulouse 1773. Etienne Barrau was received as master goldsmith in Toulouse on May 30, 1761. He died at the age of 36 on October 4, 1774. Weight 197g. The salt cellars are stamped with the charge and discharge of Toulouse for minor works 1768-1775. We guess the letter S for the year 1773. One lid is stamped, the other in the model is surely reported in the past. Condition, good, beautiful count's coat of arms on each salt shaker, slight sinking of the feet due to use. Rare.
