"Pitcher In Blue Glazed Sandstone 19th"
Important covered pitcher with glazed blue background and rotating decoration, handle and white filter spout. The decoration, all white and in relief, depicts a rural scene which takes place all around the pitcher: 2 harnessed horses wait near a tree for their rider; one of them is leaning against the barrier while the other jumps it to picking fruit from a shrub. Their dogs have killed a fox which they are devouring. The lid is decorated with white palm leaves arranged in a star around the fretel. No signature but it is almost certain that it is not He's not a Wedgwood or a Mayer, a Spode maybe... But he's probably English. David Jonhston, in Bordeaux, used an identical decor on some of his productions.
