"Dance Drum - North America"
This traditional drum is typical of the shamanic drums that could be seen among the Native American populations of North America. Often associated with these populations, the Pow Wow was for a long time one of the places where one could see the traditional use of this musical instrument. The Pow-Wows, traditionally, are events of celebration and gathering for the community, in order to get closer and exchange with family or friends annually. These large gatherings followed long periods of absence or military exploits. We will highlight on this drum many traces of period pigments, giving this object a great aesthetic and spiritual power.
