"Louis XVI Commode - Mahogany - 18th"
Magnificent Louis XVI period chest of drawers from the end of the 18th century, around 1790. This chest of drawers opens with three drawers on the front. It is worked in different species of mahogany. In speckled mahogany veneer or dappled mahogany for the darker parts, in light mahogany veneer and the uprights are in solid mahogany. It rests on two tinted toupies feet and two black straight feet. The two top feet are dressed in a ring and a bronze shoe. In addition, this dresser is adorned with beautiful bronze handles and two galleries below the first and last drawer. All four uprights are fluted. The curling decorations are of good quality. Dovetail mounting. Finally, a sarrancolin Versailles marble also called sarrancolin ilhet, established as a royal quarry during the 18th century, tops this chest of drawers. Chest of drawers restored in good condition with a new buffer varnish.
