Barbière In Solid Mahogany From Cuba, Restoration Period - 1st Part Of The Nineteenth flag

Object description :

"Barbière In Solid Mahogany From Cuba, Restoration Period - 1st Part Of The Nineteenth"
Barbière in solid Mahogany and Cuban Mahogany veneer, composed in the upper part of a so-called 'bowl' top on which rests a tilting circular mirror, psyche type. This mirror, 23 cm in diameter, lined with Mahogany, is held by a base with two thin branches equipped, on either side, with golden locking buttons. This piece of furniture offers a small drawer just 6 cm deep in the belt, which one can easily imagine, almost two centuries ago, being used as a cabbage cutter storage. It owes its unique shape to the presence of the central shaft, integrated into its cutout. This turned column, reminiscent of the Empire period, has a succession of moldings of different sizes in the lower part. It ends with a moderately carved tripod foot. The discretion of this Barbière will allow it to easily find its place even in living rooms with reduced surfaces, and would decorate a bedroom with refinement. ******** Period: 1st part of the 19th century Perfect condition after restoration in our workshop.
