dating from the first half of the 19th century, this cup consists of a square base decorated with four blue john plaques on a black marble base from Belgium with an intermediate alabaster plaque.
in finds an alabaster plate worked above the blue john and a new plate of Belgian black which comes to receive a very beautiful alabaster cup on a pedestal. the cup itself is in alabaster, the base is sculpted with antique-style palmettes and the body is made up of marq de blue john grooves.
the result is charming and unusual. an old restoration inside the cup visible in the photos.
