Very beautiful pair of "twisted" and sculpted polychrome wood columns in the salomic shape decorated with branches with vine leaves and bunches of grapes. This pair of columns rare by their triangular base acted as picnic candles. The Salomi column is an element used from time to time in the history of Christian art, although it was a common architectural motif during the Baroque. It finds its traditional origin in the columns which would have been brought back from the great temple of Solomon in Jerusalem for the construction of the Crypt of the tomb of Saint Peter in Rome.
