"Mahogany Buffet, Restoration Period - Early Nineteenth"
Mahogany sideboard designed at the beginning of the 19th century, consisting of a wooden top in mahogany burl veneer fitted around its perimeter with a double half-round molding with a projection at the angles. Below, hidden, we have a shelf in mahogany veneer, pulling out thanks to two notches with stopper. In the upper part of this piece of furniture, it has two drawers in burl mahogany opening with bowl buttons. In the lower part, two doors with a very light mitred frame are fitted with an ogee molding around the inside. In the center, a developed mahogany burl panel is accompanied by a joined center in the same taste as the perimeter of the top. Two wooden entrances and an original lock in working order with its key are positioned on these doors which were originally designed to be re-entrant on each side. Housed in each foot, a column with a large twist in the upper part and a smaller twist in the lower part overhangs a plinth with mahogany burl groove concealing a large drawer which rests on low Restoration feet.
