Rooster Ashtray Signed Paillet, Animal Bronze, Rooster At Sunrise, Bronze Ashtray

Interesting gilt bronze ashtray decorated with a rooster crowing at sunrise in a country setting. This ashtray is signed Paillet lower left. Charles Paillet (1871-1937) was a member of Georges Gardet's entourage, he exhibited between 1897 and 1921. He belongs to the second generation of the great animal sculptors of the late 19th / early 20th century. This beautiful ashtray is in good general condition, however some traces of wear due to the very nature of the object and its use should be noted (visible on photos) but are not serious.
