Equinoctial Portable Sundial Andreas Vogler

Portable octagonal equinoctial sundial in gilded brass 18th century, signed on the back Andreas Vogler (1730 - 1800) (And Vogl). , compass maker in Augsburg around 1750.  Upper plate engraved with flowers and geometric decorations enclosed in scrolls. Gnomon and adjustable hour circle according to the latitude indications engraved on the cursor. Latitudes of various cities (Leipzig, Paris, Prague...) indicated under the compass bowl. 

Period : 18th century. C. 1780.
Signed: Andreas Vogler (1730 - 1800) (And Vogl).
Dimensions: 5.6 cm x 5.8 cm.
