Object description :

"French Silver Nutmeg Grater, Trompe l'Oeil Mini Bowl, Rare, 19th Century"

Amusing miniature of an army service bowl, this one is not  tin, but silver, boar's head hallmark, Napoleon III period. The round lid, tightly sealed, is attached by chains with two loops to the body of box.
Below, a small steel grater encircled with onetwist. Size of box makes it possible to keep the fragrant nut between each puncture. A small gem of gastronomy, rare model, collector's item.
