"Exceptional Signed Hereke Carpet Designed In Silk, Turkey, 1940."
Hereke carpets designed in silk, on a silk foundation and woven with gold threads. Signed carpet dating from 1940. It is characterized by a ruby-colored field with a large central rosette with a crown of flowers in golden beige, pearl gray in the form of a diamond, encircled by two twisted vases of garlands of crenellated ivory flowered palmettes in the shape of a rams horns. Four spandrels with crowns of starry flowers that recall the central medallion. Four borders, the main one beige with navy blue plates encrusted with bulbs and flower buds.
