"Watercolor Drawing By The Artist Edmond Alet, Art Nouveau Period Circa 1900"
Rare drawing in black ink enhanced with watercolor representing a study of flowers in the Art Nouveau style. Extract from a large collection of drawings and studies by the artist Edmond Alet, brother of Maurice Alet with whom he founded the shop La Ruche À Toulouse. The Avec brothers follow courses in the wood workshop given by Jean Rivière at the School of Fine Arts. They are part of a neo-regionalist but modern current inspired by European artistic currents which put at the heart of their thinking the idea of beauty in the useful. Maurice designs the furniture and Edmond makes the designs that adorn the lumps or that are destined to become marquetry.
