"Pewter Box With Holy Oils From 1691"
Box with pyramidal lid, in pewter, with Holy Oils, rectangular in shape. It contains three covered containers of cylindrical shape also in pewter, containing the holy oils necessary for the sacraments of baptism, confirmation and ordination and that intended for the sick and dying. The containers are called "chrémeau" in reference to "chrême", an oil mixed with balsam. This box is dated 1691, with a handwritten mention: FASTINNE Good condition, but part of the interior plate is missing, as well as the cross on one of the bulbs. Dimensions of 11.6 cm by 9.1 cm.
