The perfume burner is one of the most characteristic objects of Chinese culture, ancient dynasties already manufactured them to consume incense and spread its fragrances.
Throughout the centuries, distillers in the most diverse and original forms have been made of the most diverse and, of course, combustion-resistant materials.
In 2018, the Cernuschi Museum presented an exhibition on perfume burners entitled: "Perfumes of China, the culture of incense in the time of the emperors".
As you can see in the photos, one of the birds has a missing phalanx on the leg. This is repairable.
Finding a pair is exceptional, very often, these beautiful objects are sold on their own.
