"A Sèvres Porcelain Cup And Its Saucer Of Empire Period Dated 1807"
A Sèvres porcelain cup with volute handle and its saucer.
With blue agate background, decorated in gold with a frieze of ivy leaves surrounding a horizontal cord, gold rim on the edge, gold handle.
Good condition.
Sèvres Imperial Factory, 1807.
Red stamp marks dated (180)7.
H. 10 x D. 12 cm.

Provenance
Cabaret described "fond agate frieze d'or" entered in the Sèvres sales store on March 30, 1807 (Arch. Sèvres, Vu1, fol. 36 v°), composed in particular of 12 cups with volute handles for a total manufacturing cost of 385 francs. This cabaret was bought on June 13, 1807 by a certain Mme Angler (Vz1, fol. 208 and Vy17, fol. 8 v°).
