"Pendulum "au Cupid" In Gilt Bronze Charles X Period Early XIX"
Pendulum in gilded and patinated bronze representing on one side Cupid standing with brown patina, a finger in front of his mouth making the sign of silence, the other hand holding an arrow, the tip resting on a vase with stylized handles in finely chiseled gilt bronze. On the other side we find the attributes of Cupid such as the bow, the arrow, a quiver, all adorned with a crown of delicately chiseled bronze flowers. The white enamel dial indicating the hours in Roman numerals is surrounded by a frieze of water flowers in gilded bronze. Base with double evolution richly carved with palmettes and flowers ending in four small ball feet decorated with a frieze of water flowers. Original wire movement striking the hours and half-hours works with its key. Mercury gilding with double patina and original brown patina in very good condition (cleaned by our workshop)
