Louis Cabié, renowned artist in France and particularly in the Bordeaux region, even during his lifetime, circulated in the great southwest throughout his life . Pupil of Harpignies, whose passion for vegetation is found in the manner of the Barbizon school, he will transcribe until his death the simplicity of picturesque French landscapes. Spectacular trees, forest atmospheres, places steeped in history, bewitching valleys, or even a landscape in are simpler devices than it will be able to raise from a vital contrast.
It is in 1899, that Louis-Alexandre Cabié seems to pass for the first time on the banks of the Sèvre Nantaise, representing several times this year there, the mill that we present to you, the Clisson bridge, as well as a view of the city and the feudal castle. Full of light, these different paintings show us the region in summer, in full sun or on a warm evening like our sign. The bubbling of the setting sun is felt just behind the bush next to the windmill, represented by small red and orange touches full of verve.
Do not hesitate to ask us for the iconography of the other paintings representing this place.
