"Small Inlaid Pedestal Table, Napoleon III Period - Nineteenth"
Small Pedestal Table with rectangular top and cut corners. It offers a sumptuous Marquetry of various woods, with in particular in its center the representation of a couple of birds, with pyrography, posed on a leafy branch. This scene in Sycamore on a Walnut background is lined with a multitude of friezes with geometric shapes as varied as the colors that compose them. Indeed, the craftsman of the time knew how to skilfully play with the different colors of the woods used, thus forming, with finesse, a harmonious patchwork. This tray, with also inlaid edges, overlooks a band, itself embellished with a discreet border. It rests on a central shaft with generously turned curves and finished with four cut-out feet ensuring perfect stability for this Pedestal table. This base alternates black varnished wood and natural Walnut, and again features inlays, in intertwining friezes at the top, in chevrons on the top of the legs. The dimensions of this Pedestal Table make it easily adaptable to spaces of all sizes, which it will personalize with refinement. ******** Period: Napoleon III, 19th century Perfect condition after restoration in our workshop.
