"Virgin And Child From Maine In Polychrome Terracotta, Eighteenth Century"
Superb and rare representation of the Virgin and Child in polychrome and gilded terracotta from the 18th century. The viegre is presented on a fine base, dressed in a golden dress and wearing a large plum-brown shawl. The face displays a beautiful expression and the rendering of the clothes is of great realism, great finesse of the work also on the child Jesus. Work from the Maine workshops, superb condition, slight wear to the polychromy at the base, high quality work and rare in this condition.
