"Curved Wardrobe In Regency Style Braces Marquetry, Napoleon III"
Beautiful cabinet with an eventful front opening with two curved doors, the uprights are rounded, the sides are flared. The marquetry is decorated with braces made of rosewood in kingwood frames. The top, called "doucine", is topped with a marble "Brèche d'Alep" with animated contours, marrying the curve of the furniture (thickness 3 cm). The interior is refined, of exceptional quality: Indeed, the shelves and the bottoms are veneered with mahogany wood of a very superior quality. This piece of furniture can also be completely dismantled into eight parts thanks to the screws with drilled heads provided for this purpose. This cupboard is potbellied and imposes itself by its volume. This type of antique furniture (Regency style, around 1720) is often attributable to Charles Cressent (Musée du Louvre, Paris), especially when the bronzes are powerful and finely crafted. Beautiful 19th century reproductions of this style are not frequent but are always very successful.
